Our colleagues from the Road Transport Department in Senec, Slovakia, are currently testing a Volvo electric tractor unit. During the two-week test, they are using it for transport within Slovakia. It has a range of 350 km when it’s fully loaded and charged. Later, the test will continue in the Czech Republic.
It is important for us to test this innovative technology in practice and to get our own data and information on all the pros and cons of using electric drive in heavy road freight transport, as this is one of several possible solutions to reduce CO2 emissions from our operations.
